Help Vermonters Breathe Easier! |
|
Welcome to my page and the picture I promised in my e-mail!
It's fall again and time for me to ask you to support the American Lung Association of Vermont's fight against asthma by making a pledge to support the September 16th Asthma Walk. Once again, I've joined hundreds of others who are raising funds to make a difference for the estimated 51,231 Vermonters living with this disease. In this photo taken in February, I was using my voice to raise money at a karaoke contest as the backup singer for some of the national staff. Walking?. Singing? what's next?
Your donation to the American Lung Association of Vermont will help with fund local research efforts at the Asthma Clinical Research Center at UVM, a center that has led the way for 18 other such centers across the country. We're looking for a cure and each clinical trial brings us a step closer to that goal.
Again this year, your donation will support important asthma education programs like "Champ Camp for Kids with Asthma" located in North Hero, Vermont. Champ Camp is a week long residential camp designed for children between the ages of 8-12 who live with moderate to severe asthma. This opportunity is provided at full scholarship to families and is staffed by a 24/7 volunteer inter-disciplinary health team that includes nurses, respiratory therapist, and physicians.
I appreciate whatever gift you can make. Thank you in advance for your consideration of this worthwhile cause! When you can't breathe, nothing else matters!
My best,
Ellen
