I have a spinal cord injury and walk (funny) with a cane, but I am very fortunate to have a very healthy set of lungs and I enjoy using them! When I ride my handcycle, I think that although I can't possibly go as fast as cyclists who use their legs to pedal, at least I can breathe, and this makes me so grateful. I love to ride my bike, and how nice it would be if I could just make money doing that. I found this ride and thought at least I could make money for a good cause. And look what happened - I raised over $7500 for the lung association!!! I thank the people in my life and even a bunch of wonderful strangers who made this possible - what a feeling!!! I feel great that I helped make a difference in the life of someone who is out of breath before even getting on a bike. I encourage you to experience this whenever you can. Do. Give. Support.
