| Join us in the Fight for Clean Air and Healthy Lungs |

Please join us on October 25th for an exciting and unique adventure that is good for everyone who breathes! The American Lung Association is hosting an event called Climb Phoenix! and it is different than any other athletic event in Arizona. Climb Phoenix! is a 2-building, 53-story, 1272 step Stair Climb that will take place in the stairwells of the beautiful Renaissance Square buildings in downtown Phoenix.
Set up like a duathlon (it will be "chip-timed" and everything!), participants will climb the stairwell in the first building, take the elevator down, run or walk through the lobby that connects both buildings and climb up the second building. We will finish on the 27th floor and walk out onto an open-air balcony, where we will enjoy magnificent views of the downtown skyline, South Mountain, and Arizona's blue skies. After our achievement, we will take the elevator down to the outdoor courtyard for live music, food and beverages, and interactive exhibits. We hope you will get involved by joining our team, sponsoring one or more of our climbers, or donating to our team (We are in a competition for highest fundraising team!!)
Besides being a good physical challenge and a fun event, it is also for a good cause. We are raising money for educational programs, research, and advocacy efforts to fight air pollution and lung disease to help all Arizonans breathe easier.
- Did you know that Arizona is the 2nd worst place in the country to live with Asthma...or that Asthma can be a fatal disease in children?
- Did you know that COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) is the 3rd leading cause of death in Arizona?
- Did you know that the American Lung Association lobbies for cleaner vehicle emissions and strictly air quality legislation to help our environment?
