801 Grand Power Climb

828 everyday heroes climbed to the top of the 801 Grand in Downtown Des Moines today to raise money for the American Lung Association of Iowa. In all, the firefighters, law enforcement officers, families, individuals and elite athletes, raised over $130,000 and counting to benefit education, smoking cessation and camps for children with asthma. Everyone who finished the 41 floors (82) flights of stairs had a win today.

Winners of the Ultimate Challenge (complete the climb as many times as possible in 55 minutes):
Overall - Lisa Vetterlein of Des Moines (She was also the female winner in the category.) Lisa was able to climb 6 times.

Winner of the Firefighters Challenge (career division): Des Moines Fire Department
Winner of the Firefighters Challenge (volunteer division): Algona Fire Department
