Funds will be raised in two basic ways.
- Event sponsorship donations will be solicited from companies. (Generally, cash sponsorship donations in amounts ranging from $750 to $1,500 made by local companies account for 10% to 30% of the total amount raised from the Walk.)
- Donations collected by walkers participating in the Walk. (Generally, these donations account for 70% to 90% of the total raised from the Walk.)
The annual walk benefits ALADC asthma programs and research, including: a free weeklong camp, where children learn how to manage their asthma; an elementary school program for children to learn about asthma through games and role-playing; and a program for parents and caregivers to ask health care professionals about asthma. You may continue to donate online at www.dcasthmawalk.org or by calling 202/682-5864.Together we can make a difference.
