LUCKY DUCK?
ADOPT A DUCK FOR A CHANCE TO WIN $10,000 AND OTHER GREAT PRIZES
What is the 17th Annual Duck Race?
On July 8th a sea of adopted rubber ducks will race down the mighty Boardman River in Traverse City during "Kids Day" of the National Cherry Festival. Top finishing ducks win great prizes and the first place duck is eligable to win $10,000. Your adoption donation ($5 for one duck or $20 for 5 ducks) will be used by the American Lung Association of Michigan to fight debilitating lung diseases like asthma which afflicts 4.8 million children in the United States. You do not need to be present to participate or win!
How does duck adoption work?
Through the adoption paper (online form) , participants "adopt" a duck. The paper, along with the donation ($5 for one duck or $20 for 5 ducks), is turned into Duck Central. Ducks are then assigned to each participant. Each duck will have a number, which corresponds with its owners? adoption paper. A receipt with your duck number(s) will be mailed to you within two weeks of purchase.
What are the great prizes?
If your duck is a first place finisher you win a two night stay at the Bayshore Resort in Traverse City and are eligible to win $10,000. Runner up ducks will win mountain bikes, an MP3 player, CD Players or Great Wolf Lodge Water Park Passes depending on order of finish.
Can I go to the Duck Race?

Pre-race activities will include a duck decorating contest (you can purchase a duck to decorate for $2 at the event) and a live broadcast of WKLT 97.5. Ducks will be available for adoption an hour before the event. Ducks will be dumped from the bridge at 4 p.m. finishing at the Traverse City Chamber of Commerce.
