Did you know?
-
Rhode Island has the third worst asthma rate in the country.
-
Asthma has reached epidemic levels, affecting over 100,000 people across our state.
-
Think about this: one-in-ten Rhode Islanders has asthma. You probably know many people who suffer from this chronic disease: your friends, your neighbors, people in your church or school, perhaps even you or someone in your own family.
-
Asthma is not "just a nuisance". Asthma is a serious, life-threatening disease that kills over 5,000 people each year.
-
Across the country asthma affects 24 million people, young and old. Every year, asthma causes 14 million missed school days and is the leading chronic illness among children.
Our goal is to raise $100,000. YOU can help us reach that goal!
Here's what you can do to help:

Together with GlaxoSmithKline we are working to promote asthma awareness. We have jointly launched a nationwide BREATHE EASIER campaign which includes "ACT NOW", the Asthma Contol Test NOW website. If you or anyone you know has asthma, please encourage them to take the Asthma Control Test.
As part of this campaign to build asthma awareness we've also introduced the ACT NOW BREATHE EASIER bracelets.
Thank you for helping us make a difference in the lives of people with asthma and other lung diseases. We look forward to walking with you and sharing your stories as we raise money for a cure and better treatments for asthma!
